Massage preformed for medical need or purpose due to injury, accident, birth defect.  Usually this therapy is preformed following a doctor’s proscription.  Some insurance might pay for this massage therapy.

Swedish Massage

The most common form of massage, Swedish massage mainly relaxes the muscles and eases aches and pains. The Swedish massage system is based on the Western concepts of anatomy and physiology and employs traditional manipulative techniques. The Swedish system also employs movements that can be slow and gentle, vigorous or bracing, according to the desired results.

Reflexology

Massage of the feet, hands, and or ears. Stimulates corresponding areas in the body.

Sports Massage

For the athlete, sports massage techniques are utilized at all stages: pre-event, post-event, during training, and to expedite rehabilitation after injury.
